Siouxsie Sioux & The Sex Pistols


On this day in Rock'n'Roll History… 1977 the Sex Pistols release God Save The Queen which is promptly banned and reaches No.2 in the UK charts…



… although its chart position remains the subject of some controversy with many believing that the chart was fixed to keep it from the number one spot.

On the day of its release, Siouxsie Sioux of Siouxsie and the Banshees turned 20-years-old. She had featured prominently in the most famous piece of Sex Pistols footage of them all, the notorious Bill Grundy interview of December 1976. Sweary alert…
